History

The Department of Computer Science at National Pingtung University was founded in 2000 to offer the undergraduate degree. Since 2004, the department has offered the graduate degree. In order to meet the need for leading technology and professionals in computer and information industry, the department was reorganized into non-teacher education in 2006. In 2010, the Institute of Education Technology was integrated into the department. Now we renamed the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI) in 2022.

Mission

The teaching goal of the department of computer science is to equip students with professional skills, including theories. For digital learning technology, our department combines the department of visual arts to train computer science professionals with digital learning and digital archive. Since 2004, our department has held a digital learning conference each year. The Journal of Computer Science and Application has been published by our department since 2005.
